BRUNO NERI got the M.Sc. cum laude, in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pisa in 1980. In 1983, he joined as Assistant Professor of Department of Information Engineering at the same University. In 1992, he became Associate Professor.  Since 2000 is Full Professor of Electronics, with research interests particularly in the fields of RF, µWave & mmWave circuits, Wireless systems, Radar. He is the teacher of the courses Electronics for Telecommunications, Wireless Electronic Systems and in the past, Instrumentation and Measurements, at University of Pisa. He has been also a teacher in the Summer School Enabling Technologies for IoT co-organized by IEEE Circuits and Systems society and University of Pisa.

From 2002 to 2010 he has been the Dean of the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Pisa where currently he is the Director of the Bachelor and Master programs in Electronic Engineering. He is also the director of the laboratory in RF and Microwave ICs (http://www.iet.unipi.it/rflab/members.html). In 2001 he has been awarded with the “Ordine del Cherubino”, the highest award given by the Academic Senate of University of Pisa. Prof. Neri is member of the directive council of the Italian Association for Electronic Engineering. He co-authored more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings of international conferences, two patents and a book on Radar. His H index in Scopus is 18 and he has 1100 citations in Scopus/Isi WoS.

Dr. Neri has been the leading researcher at the University of Pisa for the EU programme "ADEQUAT 0.25 um" and for two other research projects in the framework of the finalized project MADESS II.  He has been the coordinator of the national research programme "5-6 GHz multi-standard transceiver for domotic WLAN". He is also co-author of two patents concerning innovative wireless terminals for real-time multimedia communications. He is presently involved in the European Network of Excellence in Wireless Communications (NEWCom – WPR3). He received the First Prize at NEWCom European Wireless Business Idea Competition "M. Boella" organized by I3P (Incubatore Imprese Innovative del Politecnico di Torino). He has been general chair of GE2012 conference. He has been also Associate Editor of the journal “Fluctuation and Noise Letters”.
